Book Review: In the Beginning...There Were No Diapers

(In the Beginning...There Were No Diapers was provided to me free of charge by Mind and Media, who received it from the publisher for reviewing purposes.)

In the Beginning...There Were No Diapers by Tim Bete should come with a warning label: Warning! Reading this book may cause you to laugh out loud.  Please read in appropriate surroundings.

I had to take my oldest daughter to the DMV for her learner's permit test, so I grabbed this book on my way out the door.  By page two, my grin had turned to giggles.  I guess my laughter wasn't contagious judging by the scowls I received.  I only read it at home after that much to my family's dismay - apparently it's hard for them to hear the television over my snort-filled laughing.

From diaper changing to learning how to drive, I found myself snickering, nodding or thanking the Lord for sparing me from that particular disaster.  As parents, we have to be able to laugh at ourselves and remember each day how precious our children are and how fast they grow up.  Tim Bete does a great job of providing that in his book.

With five children (soon to be six), I could relate to the different stages of parenting challenges.  From newborns to teens, Tim Bete has a way of bringing humor to every situation we face as parents.  Toss in a little bit of faith and a life lesson here and there and you have a wonderful, must-read for parents.

Visit Tim Bete's website to order both autographed and unautographed copies.  Under the ordering options, you will find links to two excerpts from In the Beginning...

If you order the book, let me know what you thought either by leaving a comment or a tag.  I'd love to hear from you.
